Scarlett Kefford

Scarlett Kefford is a screenwriter and emerging stand-up comedian whose style and sense of humour are influenced by their lived experience of being a disabled, neurodiverse, queer person born and bred in Birmingham.
Scarlett was nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival/ TV Foundation New Voice Awards 2022 for New Comedy Script, the RTS Midlands Breakthrough Offscreen Award in 2020 for Producing and Writing & Short Film Category 2022, made the shortlist for 4Stories 2022, the longlist for Funny Women and BBC Scriptworks 2022, interview stage for EastEnders Disabled Writers’ Scheme 2021 and Top 50 for BBC Writer’s Academy 2020. They also recently worked as a contributing writer on ITV’s Iain Sterling’s Celebability, is currently part of Mighty Bunny’s Writey Funny radio sketch comedy development writers’ room and was the only international candidate to get an interview for the prestigious Inevitable Foundation Fellowship Fall 2022.
Scarlett is a Bridge06/ScreenSkills trained Access Coordinator and previously worked as a Production Co-ordinator and Second AD on popular shows such as BBC’s Doctors and Casualty as well as being a Production Manager for short films, stop motion animation and commercials.
