Scarlett Kefford is a screenwriter and emerging stand-up comedian whose style and sense of humour are influenced by their lived experience of being a disabled, neurodiverse, queer person born and bred in Birmingham.
Scarlett was nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival/TV Foundation’s New Voice Awards in 2022 for New Comedy Script and the RTS Midlands Breakthrough Offscreen Award in 2020 for Producing and Writing. They also made the shortlist for 4Stories in 2022, the longlist for the Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards in 2022, the longlist for BBC Studios Writers’ Academy in 2022, the interview stage for the EastEnders Disabled Writers Scheme in 2021 and the Top 50 for BBC Studios Writers’ Academy in 2020. They recently worked as a contributing writer on ITV2’s Celebability through the Comedy 50:50 internship.
Scarlett is a Bridge06/ScreenSkills trained Access Coordinator and previously worked as a Production Co-ordinator and Second AD on popular shows such as BBC’s Doctors and Casualty as well as being a Production Manager for short films, stop motion animation and commercials.
